Interior painting in Connecticut costs $3 to $6 per square foot. Proper prep, premium paint, two coats, and daily cleanup. Most rooms completed in 1 to 3 days by our in-house team.
Interior painting in Connecticut costs between $3 and $6 per square foot, including surface preparation, primer where needed, two finish coats, and complete cleanup. A typical room runs $800 to $2,500, and a whole-home interior averages $8,000 to $25,000 depending on size and trim complexity. Most projects complete in two to five days per room or phase, with whole-home work finishing in one to two weeks.
We provide interior painting across Fairfield County and New Haven County as a standalone service and as part of larger renovation projects. The prep work is what separates a paint job that holds for years from one that shows its age quickly. We spend the time on surfaces before we open a can.

Every interior painting project includes surface preparation, priming where needed, two coats of finish paint on walls, separate paint on trim and doors, furniture protection, and thorough cleanup before we leave each day and at project completion.
Surface preparation is the first and most important step. We clean wall surfaces, lightly sand where needed, fill nail holes and minor dings with appropriate filler, and caulk gaps along trim and at ceiling lines. For older Connecticut homes with plaster walls, prep may include skim coating sections where the plaster has cracked, separated from the lath, or been previously repaired poorly. We do not paint over problems.
Priming is applied wherever it is needed: over repaired areas, on surfaces with staining or bleed-through risk, on bare wood, and on any surface where adhesion may be a concern. We do not skip priming to save time.
We apply two coats of finish paint on all wall surfaces. Trim, doors, and moldings are painted separately with an appropriate sheen for durability and a clean line. Kitchens and bathrooms receive moisture-resistant formulations. High-traffic areas get durable satin or semi-gloss finishes.
Furniture is moved away from walls and protected with drop cloths before we begin. Floors are covered. Fixtures and hardware are masked. We clean up daily and fully at project end. The final walkthrough is our chance to catch anything that needs touching up before we call the job complete.

A Norwalk homeowner wanted to refresh the entire first floor before listing the home. We prepped plaster walls, repaired hairline cracks, and applied two coats in a neutral palette that brightened the living and dining areas.
"The house looked completely different. The buyers commented on how well-maintained it felt."

Connecticut homes present surface conditions that painters without local experience regularly miss or handle incorrectly.
Homes built before 1978 may have lead-based paint on original surfaces. This applies to a significant portion of the housing stock across our service area, including Greenwich, New Haven, Hamden, and many other towns where pre-war and mid-century construction is common. Before any sanding, scraping, or surface disturbance on these homes, lead testing is appropriate and required under EPA RRP rules for contractors. We follow proper lead-safe work practices when applicable, and we can walk you through what that means for your specific project.
Older homes in Greenwich, Guilford, and New Haven frequently have plaster walls rather than drywall. Plaster requires different preparation techniques. Skim coating, proper priming, and the right filler materials all matter when working on surfaces that have been in place for 80 or 100 years. We know the difference and prep accordingly.
Coastal towns like Westport, Milford, Branford, Guilford, and Madison deal with elevated humidity and salt air. Moisture-resistant paint formulations perform better in these environments, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms, and any room facing Long Island Sound. We account for this when recommending products.
Pre-1920s homes in historic districts often have original trim profiles that need to be preserved. Towns like Greenwich, New Canaan, Ridgefield, and Guilford have historic district requirements. When painting involves these details, matching the existing profile and using appropriate techniques matters. We have worked in all of these conditions across both counties.
Every interior painting project follows the same five-step process. This structure keeps projects on schedule, on budget, and clearly communicated throughout.
